New installations ­ why won't it work?


1. ampatico (rotating fish) intro screen does not appear at all!

­ Have you installed the Flash Player plug-in for your browser (Flash Player plug-in installers are on the CD and freely downloadable from www.macromedia.com

2. The ampatico (rotating fish) intro screen appears but is very small!
­ Try to expand the window or zoom in the view to increase the size. If using Netscape, we recommend that you update to the latest version or use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 (or above) which is better supported.

3. The ampatico (rotating fish) intro screen appears and I can access the first four introductory pages, but that is all!
­ After clicking on the last fish 'FORWARD' button from the authors page another window is supposed to pop-up. It can also be triggered from the (P) buttonon the perosnal plan introduction page. This might not occur or the pop-up window may be blank for any of the following reasons:

a) The Browser or Flash plug-in is not of the correct version
b) Pop-up windows have been disallowed in the browser preferences (switch them back on to solve the problem).
c) The pop-up window is hidden behind another window or has appeared off-screen - reload the browser and try again. The glossary is also triggered in the same way, so it may be useful to check that this works by clicking the (G) button.

4. The Resources (R) button does not work from the introduction.
­ It is not supposed to - you have to register and login with a password to have access to any ampatico resources.

Personal Plan ­ why won't it work?

1. It will not accept my password:

a) You could be entering the password incorrectly - pay careful attention to capital and lowercase letters.
b) Try the password 'trial' for the demo copy (this can be replaced with the full password later by returning to the Personal details section) - if this works then there is no problem except with entering the full password correctly.
c) the repeat USER ID box does not contain an identical username, or is empty - these errors will be declared on the PP in red text when you click fish to continue.

2. Every time I return to the Personal Plan it asks me to login again.
­ When you leave the Personal Plan - don't close the window, just click on the rotating fish logo or the ampatico logo to bring the main window to the front. Then when you return it will take you back to the same place again.

3. The Personal details are all incorrect or the Logfile and Notes are too full.
­ If you wish to start again - click on the CLEAR button to clear ALL data. Please note that this will lose all notes, logs and passwords.

4. The (P) buttons on the Personal Plan Introduction page don't work
­ you are already there!

5. I can edit and enter text into the course notes, but not the logfile
­ there is no facility to edit the log. You must read through the material and the logfile builds this file automatically.

6. When I print the logfile I get nothing happens.
­ This can occur if you are using Flash Player 6 - upgrade your Flash Player to at least version 7

7. When I print the course notes I get up to 30 pages but the rest is left off.
­ This is the current limit, which is thought to be adequate.

8. When I print the user log I only get the first 10 pages, the rest is left off.
­ This is the current limit, which is thought to be adequate.
